Two families dawn raided

Two families have been Dawn Raided over the weekend from Glasgow; An Algerian family was detained yesterday from Kenishead and a Turkish/Kurdish family was detained this morning from Petershill court. Details below

Fatemah Ben Hachilif (mother) from Algeria was detained on Sunday morning, along with her Husband and 3 kids. The oldest is 7 Years and youngest 8 months. They have been given a removal date of 10/12/06 (Next Sunday). Apparently, they are friends of Ahlam Soudi, PAIH Management Committee.

Cengiz Can, (father) and his wife Gultan was detained this morning from Petershill Court, along with their 3 children; Farhat, her son is 8 (oldest) and the youngest is 3.

Supporters are protesting outside Brand St this morning, however, both families have been moved to detention centres. This is all the info I have so far.

Protests at Brand Street

A growing crowd of people is gathering at the home office reporting centre at brand street, govan just now following two dawn raids which took place yesterday morning and this morning.

This morning a Kurdish/Turkish family of 5 was detained Cengiz Can, is the father, Gultan Can is his wife, again with 3 kids (oldest is their son Farhat, 8, and the yougest is 3 years).

yesterdays is an algerian family – Fatemah Ben Hachilif (mother) was detained along with her husband and 3 kids (older 7 years, youngest 8 months)

We understand they have been detained at Dungavel Removal Centre.

NO CONSULTATION WITH THE FAMILIES OR RELEVANT AUTHORITIES TOOK PLACE.

Also, Linda Keily, the neighbour from yoker who sheltered her neighbours following a dawn raid in yoker on Sunday 26 november has been charged with obstructing the course of justice. See background to this from 30-11-06 post
